Turkish authorities have banned the transport of sanctioned goods to Russia since March 1, reports Bloomberg, citing a senior Turkish official.
According to the publication, Ankara made such a decision in accordance with previously imposed Western sanctions against the Russian Federation.
It is also known that Russian diplomats and representatives of the Russian trade mission in Ankara contacted the Turkish side to find out the reasons for the decision.
In the meantime, logistics companies hope that transit will be allowed again. Otherwise, alternatives are considered. Earlier it was reported that shipments of sanctioned goods to Russia under parallel imports could be sent via the United Arab Emirates and Iran.
