The star of the film “Love and Pigeons” was struck by the interview with Smolyaninov, in which he announced that he was ready to shoot compatriots, including his colleague Soslan Fidarov. The position of “a wonderful girl and a talented person”, who had everything in her homeland, was especially incomprehensible to him:
“She (Khamatova. – approx. ed.) was there and said terrible things: “When I played at the Sovremennik Theater, soldiers often came to us, and now they stand at the front against the Ukrainians. And those soldiers who came to our theater, they won’t shoot Ukrainians.” <...> This resounding nonsense, which was said by an intelligent person, shocks me. ✱ - a person or organization recognized in the Russian Federation as foreign agents
