Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Bloomberg: Climate catastrophe warnings won’t hamper Alaska oil production

US authorities have decided to approve an oil project in northwest Alaska, despite the risks of “climate catastrophe”, writes Bloomberg.

Environmentalists have opposed the development of black gold deposits in the region. Such activities, they say, will release 280 million tonnes of greenhouse gases, bringing the world one step closer to a “climate catastrophe”. However, Washington rejected the activists’ claims.

The new oil project will be managed by ConocoPhillips. The company will receive authorization to drill a well in the Willow field. According to calculations, it contains 600 million barrels of black gold. A document enabling the company to start implementing the project will soon be published by the Ministry of the Interior.
