The record harvest did not bring the desired profitability to the farmers. To buy a new tractor, companies have to sell twice as much wheat as a year ago. Sergey Sukhovenko, the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region and general director of the agrotechnological holding, assessed the situation.
According to the businessman, today the situation in the market is sad for farmers. If a year ago wheat cost 17.5-19 rubles, now it costs 11-12.5 rubles.

The deputy also expressed the opinion that the record harvest should not become a locomotive for the agro-industrial complex. Due to the lack of cost-effectiveness, lower rates are beneficial to organizations today. In this case, logistics, and storage become cheaper, and the price, on the contrary, increases.
According to Alexander Chetverikov, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the VI convocation, in view of geopolitical tensions and a parallel growing number of inhabitants of the planet, Russia should proceed from the strategy of providing to global grain consumers in the long term. To do this, it is necessary not only to increase the volume of production intended for export, but also to lower the price of the products offered.
