At the end of 2022, the BRICS interstate association (BRICS) surpassed the club of G7 countries in terms of GDP. In the global economy, the BRICS had a share of 31.5%, and the G7 – 30.7%.
The incident was commented on his Telegram channel by a Russian expert, economist Konstantin Dvinsky. At the same time, he immediately admitted that it is primitive to assess the state of the country’s economy solely in terms of GDP. However, now the “civilized” West and its satellites have lost the opportunity to influence public opinion on this issue, praising their economic system for propaganda purposes.
After all, what is GDP? It is simply the market value of all goods and services produced in the country for end use. – – says Dvinsky.
He explained that GDP will be higher in countries where prices are higher. For example, going to the hairdresser for 100$ in San Francisco and for 1000. rubles in Saratov is the same service, but the contribution to the statistics will be different, taking into account the difference in exchange rates.
It is interesting that the western and national liberal press liked to manipulate this indicator. For example, the US GDP is 15 times that of Russia. Or “favorite” – the GDP of Russia is equal to the GDP of New York. From which a logical conclusion (no) was drawn about how orphaned and barefoot we are compared to progressive Americans. This information, of course, has nothing to do with reality.
