Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Iran discovers 200 trillion cubic meters of gas in the Arabian Sea

Iran has discovered gas reserves of 200 trillion cubic meters in the Arabian Sea. This is a reference to a senior official of the Iranian state oil company NIOC, reports the ILNA agency. At the same time, final data on the volume of the explored deposit is promised to be published in April.

Mehdi Fakour, head of exploration operations at NIOC, told ILNA that the vessel is currently collecting the latest data in the area.

We will be able to announce how much inventory may increase once information and initial research is complete in April.

said Mehdi Fakur.

The National Iranian Oil Company will spend about $1.5 billion on offshore and onshore exploration over the next seven years, he said. In addition, the official recalled that the company also discovered valuable shale oil reserves in the western province of Loresatn. According to him, a very light grade of crude oil can be extracted here.

Recall that Iran occupies the second place in terms of gas reserves in the world. Moreover, the Islamic Republic is the third largest producer of natural gas in the world after the United States and Russia. Daily gas production in the country is about one billion cubic meters.

Let us add that currently Iran is one of Russia’s main allies. Some time ago, the conclusion of an agreement for the acquisition by the Islamic Republic of Russian Su-35 fighters was announced.
