Today, the activities of the 12th edition of the annual Qatar International Food Festival kicked off at Al Saad Square on Lusail Trail, in the presence of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chair of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums, and His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, President of Qatar Tourism and CEO of Qatar Airways Group. .
The activities of the festival – which is considered the oldest food and beverage and a major event in Qatar’s annual events calendar – will continue until March 21, with the participation of more than 80 restaurants, cafes and hotels. Its 11-day activities are expected to attract more than 7,000 visitors daily. His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, President of Qatar Tourism and Group Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways said:" The Qatar International Food Festival is a celebration of the unique and diverse mix of cultures that Qatar embraces, and in light of the many world-class restaurants that have opened recently, the food and culinary scene in Qatar has gained more vitality and distinction, and we are always happy to offer all of this to visitors and residents of Qatar in March."

In the same context, Engineer Muhammad Ali Al-Khoury, Secretary-General of Expo 2023 Doha Horticulture, said that the festival is a great opportunity to enhance awareness of the Expo and its pillars and everything it represents, especially with regard to putting horticulture, innovation and technology in the service of sustainability. For his part, Mr. Francisco Miguel D’Souza, General Manager of Talabat in Qatar, said:" This festival is a testament to Qatar’s commitment to promoting cultural exchange. The Qatar International Food Festival 2023, which is being organized in cooperation with Qatar Airways, is scheduled to continue daily from 4 pm to 11 pm during weekdays, and from 4 pm to 1 am on weekends. Among the most prominent partners participating in this year’s edition are Talabat, I want, Askar Industrial Company, Qatar Museums, Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture, and Expo 2023 Doha Horticulture. In celebration of the Qatar-Indonesia Year of Culture 2023, an entire space within the activities of the Qatar International Food Festival will be allocated to explore and honor Indonesian cuisine. An entire section of the festival will be dedicated to offering vegetarian and healthy food options. In this year’s edition, food carts and kiosks serving the most delicious international cuisine will return in 2023, through a variety of food carts that are available to festival-goers. It also includes a range of diverse entertainment options suitable for all family members, as it will include mobile entertainment shows, fireworks shows, and a VIP section, as well as providing an opportunity for festival visitors to learn the arts and secrets of the culinary world, in addition to many wonderful experiences and shows.
