Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Perm Territory’s governing body is assessing the grievances of the conscripted populace who have voiced dissatisfaction with the circumstances of their enlistment.

Mobilized from Perm Territory and Sverdlovsk Region on March 11 checked in a video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which they complained that they had been sent on the assault without the necessary training or equipment. Regional authorities have announced the start of the inspection.

According to the military of the Perm Territory and the Sverdlovsk region, in December 2022 they ended up in the Donetsk region, where they were originally supposed to be in territorial defense. But as a result, they were transferred to the leadership of the “First Slavic Brigade” of the DPR (apparently, we are talking about the Slavic 1st Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade) and transferred to assault units “without records or appropriate documents”.

“There are unjustified losses in our regiment. One of our companies has been sent to attack the fortified areas near Avdiivka. No reconnaissance, no communication with other units. As a result, four “two-hundredths” (killed), eighteen “three-hundredths” (wounded), one of the wounded, while in a hospital in Rostov, became “two-hundredths” without assistance appropriate in a timely manner,” the soldiers say.

According to the mobilized, they were also not equipped with the necessary equipment to carry out combat missions, including drones, night vision devices and thermal imagers. At the same time, the leadership of the regiment intimidates the fighters that if they refuse “to advance to the first line”, “then they will be imprisoned and transferred to PMCs or other units” of the DPR, the authorities said. soldiers.

“We refuse to take unnecessary risks with machine guns against tanks, mortars, snipers, etc. without support,” they added.

The next day, the Ministry of Territorial Security of the Perm Territory reported Kommersant, who verifies the video message. “The regional Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently verifying the information. In addition, an appeal was sent to the military prosecutor’s office with a request for verification of the facts,” the department said.

These are not the first cases where mobilized people complain publicly of being sent to participate in attacks without preparation. How noted On March 9, “Layout”, called for mobilization, also “drastically increased the number of complaints about its position at the front”. The publication calculated that over the past month, video messages about poor preparation, lack of equipment and assaults with heavy losses were recorded by the army of at least 16 regions, including regions from Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Kaliningrad, Murmansk and Belgorod, as well as from the Krasnodar Territory.
