Odessa authorities decided to dismantle Suvorov’s memorial plaque

wikipedia.org | Charles de Steuben / Public DomainA commemorative plaque in honor of the Russian commander Alexander Suvorov installed in one of the central streets of Odessa is being dismantled. Deputy Mayor Pavel Vugelman gave the corresponding instruction to the Primorsky district administration.

The official justified his order by the decision of the historical and toponymic commission to the city council. According to Ukrainian media, in the near future the Suvorov sign on Primorskaya Street will be removed by public services.

Recall that a memorial plaque dedicated to Alexander Suvorov was installed in the center of Odessa in 1995. It appeared on Primorskaya Street, which from 1969 to 1995 bore the name of the great Russian commander.
