The Qatar Football Association announced the starting dates for the quarter-final round of the fifty-first edition of the HH Emir Al Mufadi Football Championship 2023, which witnessed the qualification of Al Duhail, Al Sadd, Al Arabi, Al Sailiya, Al Gharafa, Umm Salal, Al Shahania and Muaither.
Al-Arabi and Muaither will open the confrontations of this round on the eighth of next April when they meet at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, while Al-Gharafa will play with Al-Shahaniya on the ninth of the same month at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, and Al-Duhail and Al-Sailiya will meet at the same stadium on the 10th of next April, to be concluded. The meetings will be against Al Sadd and Umm Salal at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium on the 11th of the same month.
The matches of the final price round witnessed the qualification of Al Duhail, the defending champion and crowned the cup on four occasions, at the expense of its counterpart, Al Kharaitiyat, by defeating it with a clean goal. "18 titles"in crossing over to the quarter-finals by defeating Al-Markhiya 4-0.
Al-Arabi, who is the second most crowned with eight titles, succeeded in crossing the North hurdle with three clean goals, to follow the example of Al-Gharafa, the third golden record of the tournament with seven crowns, who scored a massive victory over Qatar by four goals.
Muaither blew up a big surprise after he managed to eliminate Al-Ahly, the owner of the first title of the Prince Cup in its first edition in 1973, by defeating it by three goals, and Al-Shahaniya overthrew Al-Wakra by defeating it on penalties (3-1) after a 1-1 draw, and Al-Sailiya reached the quarter-finals at the expense of Al-Rayyan. Crowned the title on six occasions, by defeating it with two goals to one, and Umm Salal succeeded in reaching the expense of Al-Khor, the leaders of the second division standings, by defeating it with a clean goal.
