Sledkom and HC “Sochi”: striker Ivanyuzhenkov is not involved in the murder of Podolsk

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation said that reports about the involvement of Sochi striker Artyom Ivanyuzhenkov in the murder of a 24-year-old man are false.

Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the department, said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The Sochi hockey club also denies the information: according to its data, Ivanyuzhenkov was at the team’s training camp at the time of the incident.

According to State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein, the real suspect in the murder has already been identified and handed over to the Podolsk Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation: he is a man 30-year-old who wrote a confession.

Earlier it was reported that the hockey player was arrested on suspicion of a murder that occurred on the night of March 12 near a restaurant in Podolsk. The injured man was stabbed and died in hospital.
