Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Chair of the National Human Rights Committee and Chair of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, met today, at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, with Her Excellency Mrs. Nada Al-Nashif, the Acting United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
During the meeting, they discussed means of cooperation between the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, to protect and promote human rights in light of the many humanitarian crises the world is experiencing.
Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah also presented the most important recommendations of the Conference on Climate Change and Human Rights, which is co-organized by the Global Coalition with the National Human Rights Committee in the State of Qatar, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the United Nations Development Program and the League of Arab States.
In the same context, Her Excellency the Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, President of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, met with Mrs. Catherine Rosa, representative of the Office of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Amina Ayyash, Secretary-General of the Alliance, to discuss the agenda of the Alliance and the meeting of the General Assembly of the Global Alliance.
