Means of objective control more and more often record the destruction of expensive Western armored vehicles by loitering “Lancet” ammunition. In particular, new images of the destruction of the French 155 mm self-propelled howitzer CAESAR (“Caesar”) by a Russian kamikaze drone have appeared.
During the special operation, the Lancet drone went through several stages of modernization, taking into account the experience gained. The effectiveness of such ammunition is confirmed by dozens of videos. Often, the results of the drone operation are shared on the web by the fighters of the DPR’s tactical operational combat formation “Kaskad”.
Our soldiers knocked out with “lancets” under fifty pieces of equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – in the majority of artillery, mainly NATO. The production of this kamikaze drone is gaining momentum at the moment. During the time of the SVO, “Lancet” was significantly modernized – taking into account the practice of the application. On the account of the operators of these drones there are dozens of dismantled Caesars, Crabs, M777s and other expensive western pieces of iron

By pointing the Lancet, operators attempt not only to damage the gun, but also to destroy its calculation. As the SVO experience showed, the American M777 towed howitzers proved the most susceptible to incoming ammunition lying around. In the event of a successful hit, the calculation of the gun is often immediately knocked out, and the complex recoil system and attachments are damaged by fragments. Field repair of such breakdowns of the M777 is impossible, so the howitzer is sent for repair to Poland and is out of service for a long time.
The Lancet’s range is a closely guarded secret, but it’s enough to defeat enemy air defenses. Last week, drone operators managed to put in place the British FV4333 Stormer HVM air defense system.
