Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Avril Lavigne draws attention for the way she manipulated a topless protester on stage

Singer Avril Lavigne has drawn attention for the way she handled an incident that happened recently at the Juno Awards.

A singer was introducing the next act on stage when a shirtless protester entered the stage. The protester had written a message on his back – Save the Green Belt, which referenced the government’s controversial development plans for Ontario, Canada.

Avril Lavigne initially tried to ignore the stalker, but then turned to her and yelled, “Shut up,” then repeated the message, “Shut up, bitches.”

Then finally a security guard came and interrupted the game.

Avril then accepted a special TikTok Juno Fan Award at the festival. There, she referred to the incident in her acceptance speech.

“And no one should try anything now, fuck it,” she joked.

She later addressed the incident in a post on Twitter where she thanked her.

Thank you to my amazing fans for voting for the TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award. This is my 10th Juno Award and my 4th Fan Choice Award. Let’s keep rocking and cheering for the next 20 years!
