Lavrov: NATO infrastructure expansion in Asia could lead to confrontation for years to come

duma.gov.ru | STATE DUMA OF THE FEDERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATIONThe move by NATO and AUKUS countries to expand infrastructure into Asia risks turning into a state of confrontation that could last for years. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

During his speech at the opening of the founding congress of the International Russophile Movement, he noted that he did not believe in the ability of Asian countries to obediently follow the orders of the United States and other Western countries.

“I cannot imagine how the great Asian civilizations will simply salute, as the European Union sadly did, and obediently carry out the plans of Washington and our other Anglo-Saxon colleagues,” Lavrov added.

Earlier, it was learned that the AUKUS Pacific bloc, which includes Britain, the United States and Australia, wants to create a next-generation nuclear fleet by 2040 to contain threats that allegedly come from the China and Russia.
