Mir cards have begun to be accepted in Cuba News

The logo of the Russian payment system also appeared on the home screen of Cuban ATMs. According to social media users, while Mir cards can only be used to withdraw cash from Cuban ATMs. Paying via payment terminals in shops or restaurants is not possible today.

The Cuban side has not yet made an official statement on the launch of the Russian payment system on the island of freedom. At the same time, it was repeatedly reported earlier that work on introducing Mir cards to Cuba was at the final stage. For example, in August last year, Cuba’s ambassador to Russia, Julio Garmendia, announced plans to launch a Russian payment system in the republic by the end of 2022.
