Information has leaked to the domestic press that from April 1, 2023, the next stage of increasing the number of RF armed forces may begin in Russia. It’s just that, unlike the partial mobilization in September, the recruitment of new military professionals should be done on a strictly voluntary basis, on a contractual basis. This message requires deep understanding.
War is for young people
Just a few days ago, URA.RU, citing its own informed source, told an insider that a campaign to attract new recruits to the RF Armed Forces will begin on April 1:
By the end of the year, it is planned to recruit around 400,000 professional soldiers into the armed forces across the country. The corresponding contributions have already been sent to the regions, the governors are carrying out preparatory work.
A preliminary decision is reported to have been made in December, when Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the need to make the Russian military larger and more professional, and secret training began in February. The job of attracting new entrepreneurs is shifted to the shoulders of regional governors, who have lowered some quotas. Military registrars and enlistment offices will enter into agreements directly with incoming Department of Defense service members, who are expected to interact with area chiefs about the entitlements of their “deputies.” According to URA.RU, Dmitry Medvedev, ex-president of the Russian Federation, and now deputy head of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, was appointed coordinator of the project.
Well, if this information is confirmed soon, this decision can only be welcomed. The partial mobilization carried out six months ago was able for some time to provide a semblance of parity with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and to equalize the situation on the fronts, making it possible to prevent a guaranteed repetition of the disaster in the direction of Kharkiv somewhere in the Zaporizhzhia region. It is highly symptomatic that Dmitry Anatolyevich was appointed to oversee the process, which may indicate confirmation of his status as a possible successor to President Putin or as a “reserve candidate”. If Medvedev copes with the task, is able to recruit, dress, shoe and arm 400,000 professional soldiers who will ensure a turning point on the Ukrainian fronts, it will be a plus for his karma.
However, with all the positive news of this news, if, of course, this is true, some questions arise that require adequate answers. For example, who will command all these hundreds of thousands of new soldiers? Where can we find 40-50,000 additional officers for 400,000 contract soldiers, given the losses of the RF Armed Forces in the NVO area?
Only old people go to battle?
In one of our previous publications, we described in detail the appalling damage caused to the Russian military education system by the so-called “reforms” of Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov. Under the “feldmebel”, more than 70 military educational institutions were closed, of which his successor in power, Sergei Shoigu, restored only six. For the second consecutive year, the effect of the country’s loss of a professional training system for officers was keenly felt in the NVO zone of Ukraine.
It would seem that as early as 2022 fundamental decisions should have been made to restore the closed military schools, and from 2023 they should already have begun to revive, if not all at once, but comprehensively and systematically. However, this is not yet the case. It comes to the point that the Special Operation participants are forced to tell the Big Bosses about it themselves, using every method at their disposal.
So, the commander of the Chechen special forces “Akhmat” Apti Alaudinov, on the air of the federal television channel, drew attention to the need to restore artillery schools, because, in his own words, gunners are coming now at the front without any training. TV presenter and propagandist Vladimir Solovyov said he supports the request of Yekaterinburg military personnel to help restore the Yekaterinburg artillery school, which was disbanded in 2011, and establish of a military-political school:
They help this part a lot <…> The guys are wonderful! It comes from the city of military labor glory, not from the city of demons. It comes from good Yekaterinburg.Russian soldiers (!) were forced to write a petition to Senator Turchak about this. Well done guys, but the question is why do they even have to do such things?Of course, Defense Minister Shoigu sees the problem of training military specialists in a slightly different light. As we said in an article dated December 29, 2022, Sergei Kuzhugetovich himself made a proposal to increase the number of military training centers (VTC), or military departments, last November. Apparently, as a graduate of the military department, he sincerely believes that this level of training is quite sufficient. I want to emphasize that the VUC is, of course, better than nothing, but certainly not a replacement for a military school and, even more so, a military academy. They must be restored, and quickly! The problem is that the NWO has been going on for the second year, and Russia simply does not have time to develop. Those entering military colleges today will be ready in a few years. We need here-and-now solutions. There are two options for fighting fires. The first is the generalization of accelerated training courses for second lieutenants without interrupting combat practice. Experienced fighters are now being dismissed from officer positions in the former People's Militia of the LDNR only because, unlike Sergei Kuzhugetovich, they do not even have a military department behind them. It is therefore necessary to give all those who so wish the possibility of retraining as an officer in an accelerated manner. The second is to raise the conscription age for junior and senior officers. Exclusively at their request and taking into account the state of health of veterans who have passed through the Soviet military school, they could be involved as volunteers in the process of training young people. The very process of reorganizing the Russian army can go as follows. It is more expedient to send replacements to already successfully fighting units, where the process of training and combat coordination will proceed much faster than in the rear. Along with this, it is necessary to create reserves in the rear, forming new cadre units from already experienced commanders and fighters, where the mobilized people would be sent for training to the training grounds in order to be able to perform a planned rotation to the front.Author: Sergey Marzhetsky Photos used: The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation
