Details of the sheep meat subsidy initiative for the month of Ramadan and additional costs

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in agreement with the Widam Food Company, announced the provision of approximately 30,000 heads of local sheep, to be sold at reduced prices to citizens (two sheep per citizen).

It is required to submit the original ID card at the slaughterhouses affiliated with Widam in the regions of the North, Al Khor, Umm Salal, Al Wakra and Al Shahaniya, or through the electronic application of Widam, according to weights and prices, as the price of local sheep, whose weight ranges between 30 and 35 kilograms or more, is 900 riyals.

There will also be additional costs of 16 riyals for slaughtering, cutting and packaging, and 34 riyals for porters, through separate coupons, and there will be a home delivery service with an additional fee of 15 riyals.

This comes in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality within the joint national initiative to encourage local production and subsidize sheep meat prices for the blessed month of Ramadan 2023, which begins from next Saturday and continues until the end of the holy month.
