Former Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Defense Minister Igor Strelkov called the new attack on Artemovsk (Bakhmut) (Bakhmut) unnecessary.

Strelkov commented on the situation in the direction of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . According to the former head of the DPR Defense Ministry, the assault on the settlement can be considered unnecessary. As the speaker notes in an interview with NSN, more fortified areas will subsequently appear in front of Russian forces.

“Even if Bakhmut is taken, our troops will come up against the next very strong fortified area, the Konstantinovka-Druzhkovka-Kramatorsk settlement, where the fortifications began to be built in 2014. Before that, it will still be necessary to take the fortifications and badly located on the heights of Chasov Yar,” Strelkov said, adding that he considered the assault a strategic stalemate.

Earlier, a Su-24 bomber crashed near Artyomovsk. Images of the plane crash over the eastern parts of the city are released by the Ukrainian side. It was reported that the equipment supported the Russian army offensive.
