Audiences from Yekaterinburg and Nizhny Tagil, Serov and Kamensk-Uralsky, Pervouralsk and Revda will attend four performances. For example, the dramatic farce “Lefty” based on the work of Leskov and the psychological tragicomedy by Dmitry Danilov “The Man from Podolsk”. The children’s play “At the ark at eight” based on the play by Ulrich Hub is witty dialogues and funny situations against the backdrop of a downpour. The recently restored production of 2013 is interesting, as its creators assure, both for children and for adults. No wonder she regularly collects awards and nominations – for example, the Grand Prize at the Children’s Performing Arts Festival in St. Petersburg.
Another show – “Random Man” – about teenage experiences, relationships between children and parents, premiered in Mariupol in August last year.
- Due to the fact that the city theater was destroyed, we performed on the stage of the Palace of Pioneers. There, the schoolchildren welcomed us, we hope that the children of the Urals will like it, ”says Vladislav Slukhaenko, director and artistic director of DRAMT.
The artists rehearse on their own stage in Makiivka, but the public is not yet invited to the theater building for security reasons. The shows are performed in schools in relatively safe facilities, they travel to hospitals with concerts, and DRAMT also tours extensively across the country.
Thanks to the program of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation “Big Tours” in 2022, the team visited almost a dozen Russian cities, staying in each only 2-3 days. In March, tours have already been presented in Tyumen and Kurgan. But in the Sverdlovsk region, the artists decided to stay for more than two weeks.
- There are several reasons. First, the Sverdlovsk region took the patronage of the city of Makeevka. And secondly, since 2014 I myself worked at the Sverdlovsk Musical as an assistant director until I returned to my theater in 2020, – Vladislav Slukhaenko explains the team’s long tour of the Urals .
- The team has already visited the Middle Urals in 2015 and was warmly welcomed by the public. And now, this meeting is supported by a feeling of true brotherhood. After all, Makeevka is connected with the Sverdlovsk region by special wires. I am sure that viewers of all ages will have real pleasure in continuing to get acquainted with the theater and feel the powerful energy of Donbass, the region’s Minister of Culture, Svetlana Uchaikina, told RG.
Together with the theater, the works of young artists who participated in the contest “Donbass – my love” arrived in the Urals. According to Svetlana Uchaikina, these bright positive images will remain in the Sverdlovsk region – they have already been purchased by the regional branch of the Women’s Union of Russia. The proceeds were used to purchase table easels and other materials for the Makeyevka School of Art.
