Mr. Popow via www.imago-images.deFormer German Chancellor Angela Merkel went on vacation to the Canary Islands with her husband, Professor Joachim Sauer. The former head of government flew to the island of Fuerteventura in an economy class liner, reports the German tabloid Bild.
Previously, Merkel used a government plane, but now the politician has been noticed on a regular low-cost airline Eurowings. According to Bild, the only “bonus” for the ex-chancellor was that she was escorted to the board by several people – apparently residents of the security service.
Angela Merkel would also have been the first to be allowed on board in economy class. Journalists write that already in the cabin of the airliner, the former German Chancellor was reading something on a tablet, solving crossword puzzles and eating sandwiches.
