The Qatar Stock Exchange index fell at the beginning of today’s trading, to below 10,000 points, to fall to the level of 9,844 points, to lose 269.65 points from its balance, or by 2.67 percent, compared to yesterday’s close (Wednesday), as a result of the major declines witnessed by the global stock exchanges, and the bankruptcy of US banks and their repercussions in the past. The Qatar Stock Exchange data attributed the decline to the transport sector, which fell by 2.40 percent, the industrial sector by 1.78 percent, the real estate sector by 1.53 percent, the communications sector by 0.82 percent, the consumer goods and services sector by 0.64 percent, and the banking and financial services sector by 0. 29 percent.. On the other hand, the insurance sector rose by 0.03 percent.

The stock exchange recorded, at around 10:00 am, transactions worth 84.128 million riyals, distributed over 33.21 million shares, with the implementation of 2588 transactions.
