Under study in America.. A new law to eliminate wasting time in football

Sports reports revealed a new law under study to eliminate wasting time in football that may be applied in the American League, similar in some details to what happens in handball, such as the two-minute suspension penalty.

Al-Jazeera Net said that those responsible for the Major League Soccer (MLS) competition are planning to implement a new law that will contribute to reducing the problem of wasting time during matches.

This tournament, in which 21 teams from the United States and Canada will participate, was launched in 2022, and it is expected that the number of teams will increase to 28 this year.

According to the new rule called "Timed replacement"the substituted player will have only 10 seconds to leave the field, and upon exceeding that period, the penalty will fall on his entire team.

The rule states that "The substituted player must leave the field within 10 seconds only, but if it takes longer, his team will play minus one player for one minute.".

This law aims to try to eliminate what the Spanish newspaper described "one of the main problems" Modern football is a waste of time.

This is the second law that has been passed since last season in the NBA, as the first aimed at dealing with player injuries during matches.

The first law stipulates that if a player remains on the ground for more than 15 seconds, the team doctor can treat him outside the boundaries of the field.
