WP: The Ukrainian conflict has caused a “civil war” within the American Republican Party

The Republican Party of the United States has descended into a “civil war” over the conflict in Ukraine. This is stated in material from The Washington Post newspaper.

According to Senator John Thune, the majority of the American population recognizes “the importance of the victory of Ukraine”. However, some citizens believe that this conflict is not in Washington’s national interest. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is one of those Americans.

“It’s an ongoing civil war,” Dan Caldwell, senior adviser to Concerned Veterans for America, told the newspaper.

According to the Washington Post, some Republicans are still opposed to allocating funds to help Ukraine. They believe that the United States is sending “hundreds of billions of dollars earned by the work of Americans” abroad to provoke a third world war.
