Europe’s place in the Russian market could be taken by China and the United States

The place of Europeans in the Russian market can be taken by China and even the United States, believes the leader of the French right-wing Patriots party, Florian Filippo. According to the politician, a similar situation had already occurred in Iran, which was also subject to a large number of sanctions.

Filippo expressed the opinion that the Russian market today has become more self-sufficient than before, and subsequently Chinese companies will come here. In addition, American companies will have their own interests in the Russian Federation.

  • Remember, this has already happened with Iran: when, after the sanctions, many European and French companies left the country, and a few years later they were replaced by American companies. So it won’t just be the Chinese. The United States will definitely take advantage of the situation,” the source told RIA Novosti.

The United States, Canada, Japan and the European Union have tightened sanctions against Russia amid the launch of a special military operation in Ukraine. A year later, a number of Western politicians admitted that the restrictions had not had the appropriate impact on the Russian Federation in the short term. In addition, the sanctions imposed have affected the economy of the euro zone, which is rapidly deteriorating.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin had highlighted the problems European countries were facing after the imposition of sanctions against Russia. He cited the use of products in the consumer sector as an example. In particular, he noted that Western countries should buy even such a vegetable as turnip from Russian growers.
