The International Court of Justice in The Hague has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin. The corresponding statement was published on the official website of the International Criminal Court (ICC). In addition to Vladimir Putin, an arrest warrant has been issued against Maria Lvova-Belova, Commissioner for Children’s Rights to the President of the Russian Federation.
— Today, 17 March 2023, Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for two individuals in connection with the situation in Ukraine: Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Ms. Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova. <> The above arrest warrants were issued pursuant to requests filed by the Prosecution on February 22, 2023, the ICC said in a statement.The document indicates that these people could be involved in "war crimes consisting of the illegal deportation of the population (of children) and the illegal transfer of the population (of children) to the Russian Federation".
