His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, issued a decision to establish a civil medal "Abdullah bin Jassim dagger" It is given to ministers and those of their rank. It may be awarded to those who perform works worthy of appreciation, whether for the state or humanity.
Issue No. 4 of the Official Gazette for the year 2023, yesterday, Thursday, corresponding to March 16, included the text of Emiri Resolution No. 17 of 2023 issued in the Emiri Diwan on 8/7/1444 AH corresponding to 2/27/2023 AD, establishing the Medal "Abdullah bin Jassim dagger".
Resolution materials:
Article (1) A civil medal called "The dagger of Abdullah bin Jassim"It will be the successor to the mantle of Hamad bin Khalifa, and the precedent of the Medal of Wajba.
Article (2) The dagger of Abdullah bin Jassim is granted to ministers and those of their rank. It may be awarded to those who perform works worthy of appreciation, whether for the state or humanity.
Article (3) The model and design of Abdullah bin Jassim’s dagger, its insignia, and the materials from which it is made shall be determined in accordance with the appendix attached to this decision.
Article (4) All competent authorities, each within its jurisdiction, shall implement this decision, and it shall be enforced from the date of its issuance, and it shall be published in the Official Gazette.
What is the Order of Abdullah bin Jassim’s dagger?
It is an exact copy of the dagger of Sheikh Abdullah bin Jassim Al Thani "May God have mercy on him"Manufactured using the same techniques as the original, all gold elements are sterling silver plated with 24k gold.
Motifs matching the motifs engraved on the original dagger were engraved. The leather is soft black calf leather, and it was hand-embroidered with gold wire (2% gold) with delicate motifs matching the motifs engraved on the original dagger. The handle is made of rich sapele wood, the same color as the original khanjar handle.
As for the pearls, they are the same size and color as the original pearls on the original dagger, and the wire is sterling silver and plated with (24 karat) gold.
The total height of the dagger is 294 mm, and the total width is 202 mm, which is identical to the original scale of the dagger.
The box: made of soft calf leather in burgundy color, inside it is the emblem of the State of Qatar made of sterling silver and plated with (24 karat) gold.
