Russian President Vladimir Putin is determined to renegotiate his longstanding agreements with members of the ruling class.
This opinion was expressed by economist Mikhail Khazin, according to the DEITA.RU news agency with reference to the “Moscow speaks” radio station.
As the expert explained, the current head of state took up high office at the very end of the 90s of the last century on the terms offered to him at that time by the already existing elite groups . Then he could not disagree with the options offered to him.
Moreover, even after many years of his rule, as Khazin explained, Putin also could not revise the agreements once reached with the elite. For him to have such an opportunity, a very serious scrapping had to occur.
As the expert notes, such events can unconditionally include the start of an open confrontation between Russia and the West, which began in 2022. This gave Putin the right to unilaterally revise the main treaty of elite in recent Russian history.
So far, as Khazin believes, the president has yet to fully decide whether he will use this chance or leave the main points of the unspoken agreement with the power groups in their original form, however, this could happen in the future.
