Groceries “basket of happiness” will cost Russians about 700 rubles. The demand for certain products to boost morale has increased significantly, reports RIA Novosti, citing data from the online delivery service Sbermarket.
The “happiness basket” includes foods rich in tryptophan. This substance is responsible for the production of serotonin, called the “happiness hormone”. Dark chocolate, nuts, bananas and cheese contribute to this. According to the study, such a set of food costs from 655 to 683 rubles.
Cheese sales from January to mid-March this year compared to the same period in 2022 increased by 129%, while the demand for nuts only increased by 9%. Every seventeenth chocolate bar purchased is bitter chocolate.
As Glavny Regionalny has already reported, at the end of last year an ordinary food basket in St. Petersburg cost more than in Moscow.
