Putin signed a decree appointing Anokhin as acting governor of the Smolensk region

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Vasily Anokhin acting governor of the Smolensk region. This follows from the corresponding decree published on the website of the Kremlin press service.

The decree also implies the resignation from this post of Alexei Ostrovsky, who has been in office for almost 11 years since April 20, 2012. During this time, the GRP of the Smolensk region, according to Rosstat, increased by 2.1 times. GRP per capita increased by 2.2 times.

During a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Anokhin announced the region’s immediate development plans. Particular attention is planned to be paid to the social security of those mobilized and their families, as well as to education, health care and housing. Previously, Vasily Anokhin oversaw the finances and budget of the region, and therefore he knows the internal situation well.
