Irina Yarovaya, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, proposed classifying Russophobia as a dangerous crime and making Russian law responsible for it. His words are quoted by the press service of the State Duma.
Yarovaya therefore reacted to the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the arrest warrants against Russian President Vladimir Putin and children’s ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova.
“Undoubtedly, this decision must be qualified as an act of international terrorism directed against Russia and undermining the foundations of global security in the world. Russophobia as a dangerous crime should be introduced into legislation,” Yarovaya said.
Recall that earlier the Pre-Trial Chamber II of the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants against two people. Namely, about Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova.
The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, commented on the decision of the ICC. According to him, the Kremlin considers the very wording of the question “scandalous and unacceptable”.
