The activities of the Qatar Kite Festival, which lasted for three days, were concluded yesterday in the garden of the Museum of Islamic Art, during which more than 60,000 visitors enjoyed the various artistic performances presented by 40 professional kite pilots. The event was held under the auspices of Qatar Tourism and Qatar Museums. Mr. Hassan Al-Moussawi, General Manager of Safe Flight Solutions, the company organizing the Qatar Kite Festival event, says, “The Qatar Kite Festival aims to enrich the tourism sector with new and modern programs and activities that enhance the visitor’s experience and support the success of the prosperity and vitality of the tourism industry and provide it with a series of programs and activities. Which attracts many visitors, indicating that the Qatar Kite Festival is one of the most prominent entertainment programs and events calendar during the current year 2023, stressing that the event attracted more than 60,000 visitors during the three days of the festival’s life, who interacted with this interesting event through the participation of 40 professional pilots in the festival. Kites from 11 countries, stressing that the event completely succeeded in creating a wonderful festive atmosphere by providing a unique and new experience for visitors, indicating that the Qatar Kite Festival was launched in this edition in cooperation with Qatar Tourism and Qatar Museums, with the participation of more than 40 professional giant kite pilots from 11 countries, which are Qatar, Britain, America, France, Turkey, Germany, Thailand, India, Switzerland, Italy, Indonesia and the Sultanate of Oman Where the participants were able to present a series of technical reviews that won the satisfaction and approval of the audience who interacted with them, referring in this context to the presence of giant planes with a length of 35 meters. Hassan Al-Moussawi said, “The planes were called kites because they were made of paper. Now, there are planes made of nylon with different geometric and cartoon shapes as well, as they embody the shape of wild and aquatic animals. Hassan Al-Musawi said, “We worked to find a workshop for manufacturing and coloring kites, and more than a thousand kites were distributed to the public.” He said, “The children were divided into two groups, the first from 5 to 12 years old, and the second from 12 to 17 years old, noting that participation in the event programs is for the public.” It was done through pre-registration, expressing his thanks to Qatar Tourism and Qatar Museums for their role in providing great support for the success of the festival and strengthening its position on the map of the local entertainment events calendar.
