Belgrade and Pristina have reached certain agreements on further normalization of relations. This was declared by the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell following the talks in Ohrid (North Macedonia).
The head of European diplomacy noted that the talks lasted 12 hours and focused on practical steps to implement the normalization agreement. The parties discussed “what should be done, how, when and who will do it”.
I can announce that Kosovo and Serbia have agreed on an annex for the implementation of the agreement on the way to the normalization of relations
said Borrell.
It should be noted that the Serbian President Aleksandar VuÄić and the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti, with the participation of the said Borrell and the special envoy for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, the famous Slovak politician and diplomat Miroslav Lajcak (former OSCE President, former UN High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Envoy, chaired the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, was Ambassador of Slovakia to Yugoslavia, to the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, as well as Albania and Macedonia) took place on 18 March. The topic of discussion was the implementation plan for the US-European settlement proposal in Kosovo.
In turn, Vucic addressed the Serbian citizens of Ohrid, informing them of the work done and the prospects.
I didn’t sign anything even today. I specified what our red lines are. We have made good progress in a constructive atmosphere. It wasn’t D-Day, but it was a normal day. Tomorrow, I will present to the citizens each element and what awaits us. From Monday and Tuesday, I will be ready to receive all the representatives of the parliamentary groups for consultations. In the months to come, serious and difficult work awaits us. If we want to persevere on the European path, that will be judged by the implementation of what I have spoken to you about this evening. Here is the essential in a nutshell. We had a decent conversation, despite many disagreements
Vucic explained.
