Dwayne Johnson on Negative ‘Black Adam’ Reviews: ‘It’s Part of the Business’

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has opened up about the critical response his film has received. It came out last October. In an interview with Variety during the last Academy Awards, the actor noted Black Adam’s generally positive reception from audiences. As for those film industry professionals who called Johnson’s creation “a spotty disappointment,” then, in his view, they shouldn’t get much attention.

“All I could do, and all we could do when we were filming Black Adam, was do our best, surround ourselves with the best people, and make the best movie we can,” Dwayne admitted. “Our audience likes rating hit 90%. Critics fired a few shots. It’s just business and nothing more.”

Black Adam grossed $392 million worldwide on a budget of $260 million.
