The head of the Luxembourg Ministry of Defense, François Bausch, tried to put pressure on the Russian ambassador Dmitry Lobanov, writes EaDaily.
The reason for this was the statement of a Russian diplomat that “Washington is 100% responsible for the Ukrainian conflict.” Lobanov recalled that since the duchy is part of NATO, it means that he is an active “accomplice” of destructive American political actions.
Bausch’s reaction was like a tantrum. He was outraged by such accusations and also urged not to escalate the situation.
Recall that in the fall of 2022, Luxembourg supplied HMMWV vehicles and 155 mm ammunition to Kiev. The Duchy’s aid may indicate that other Alliance countries have weapons problems. The Luxembourg army is the second smallest in the EU, ahead of San Marino with 99 men.
