President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, in an article for RIA Novosti and Rossiyskaya Gazeta, said the purpose of his visit to Russia was to strengthen friendship and peace.
“My next visit to Russia aims to strengthen friendship, cooperation and peace,” the general secretary of the Communist Party of China said in a statement.
The document also notes that the Chinese leader is ready to outline new plans with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in order to open up new prospects in Sino-Russian relations.
In addition, the CPC General Secretary said that Beijing adheres to an objective and impartial position on the crisis situation in Ukraine and advocates a peaceful solution to the issue through negotiations. According to him, the fundamental principles of conflict resolution are strict adherence to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, as well as respect for the security needs of other countries.
