Russians are interested in tourist trips to China, but the agreement on the entry of groups according to the lists of tour operators is still not in force. The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) has prepared an appeal to the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Moscow Tourism Committee on the resumption of visa-free group travel for tourists.
Today, most Russians go on business trips to China. However, they have to queue for a visa with tourists, since there are no separate slots at the consulates.
“It takes at least 2 months for all the visa mechanisms to be worked out. It is necessary to evaluate the real tourist demand, to form groups. Also, not all regions of China will open up to tourism quickly,” said Evgeny Glotov, head of marketing department at tour operator China Travel.
Meanwhile, the reverse process is also in effect: Russia issues tourist visas to Chinese citizens. They have to pay 70 to 420 dollars. It is therefore not surprising that the majority expect to have the possibility of visa-free entry on the lists of tour operators.
ATOR pointed out that China is the most promising market for inbound tourism in Russia. In current realities, one cannot count on a large number of travelers from other countries.
Previously, Russians were told about ways to quickly process visas and get to China.
