The President of Russia can begin the purge of the administrative elite by changing the criteria for evaluating the work of civil servants.
This was said by economist Mikhail Khazin, according to the TELMENEWS.RU news agency
On the air of his author’s weekly radio program “Moscow Talks”, the expert explained that if earlier the main requirement for Russian bureaucrats was loyalty, now such an indicator as efficiency is beginning to come to the fore.
As Khazin said, the change in the performance assessment of officials was due to a sharp worsening of the geopolitical situation around Russia, which led to a decrease in budget revenues and the need to find new sources of income for the state.
In addition, many goods have ceased to be imported into the country, and now the authorities have to establish domestic production of their analogues already in our territory. Thus, the results of the bureaucrats’ work can now be judged in coins and tons.
“Putin’s cleanup will mainly target officials who do not fulfill the plan he lowered from above. They will be removed from the state apparatus before anyone else,” the economist explained.
