Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on a state visit to Moscow, has invited Russian leader Vladimir Putin to visit China this year. Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin also received such an invitation.
“Yesterday, I invited President Putin to visit China this year at a convenient time for him, as China will host the third international forum under the Belt and Road Initiative this year.” President Putin participated in the previous two forums,” Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Mishustin at Government House.
Earlier, Xi Jinping arrived at Government House for talks with Mishustin. The Chinese leader urged the premier to make his first visit to China “as soon as possible” and step up the work of the two countries’ intergovernmental mechanisms.
