Dmitry Kozhanov, assistant to the president of the National Research Center “Kurchatov Institute”, was appointed general director of the Polytechnic Museum. On this subject reported on the website of the Ministry of Culture.
Kozhanov, a doctor of economics, previously “held senior positions in research and production enterprises,” the ministry said in a statement.
The new director of the museum was presented by Deputy Minister of Culture Alla Manilova. She said the Ministry of Culture has high hopes for the new leader leading the highly professional team at Polytech.
Manilova said a large-scale museum reconstruction project is currently underway, work is underway to create a permanent exhibit and digitize holdings, and a branch in Tula is being prepared for opening.
Last year, Polytech events, including conferences, film screenings and master classes, attracted more than 200,000 people. “The Polytechnic Museum is a unique synergy of science, engineering and the arts,” the official stressed.
The former general director of the Polytechnic Museum, Elena Pronicheva, has been the head of Polytech since 2020. On February 9, 2023, she was appointed general director of the Tretyakov Gallery in place of Zelfira Tregulova.
Pronicheva is the daughter of the former head of the FSB border service, General Vladimir Pronichev. Over the years, she worked in the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, Gazprom, Gazprombank and VDNKh. From 2013 to 2020, she was executive director of the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
On March 21, the management of the Pushkin Museum im. Pushkin. Marina Loshak, who had led the museum since 2013, left her post. Its place was taken by Elizaveta Likhacheva, who previously headed the architectural museum named after AV Shchusev.
