London faces opposition to supplying munitions with uranium to Ukraine

Social activists in Britain advocated the refusal of the state and other countries of nuclear weapons, they also condemned the official willingness of London to send munitions containing depleted uranium to Kiev.

The general secretary of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Keith Hudson, believes that the state should not take such a step. She said that the appearance of these weapons in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine will only increase the suffering of civilians. The expert says it was like that in Iraq.

“As was the case in Iraq, the introduction of depleted uranium projectiles into this conflict will only increase the long-term suffering of civilians trapped in the conflict. Depleted uranium projectiles have already been linked to thousands of deaths from cancer and other serious preventable diseases,” Hudson told CNN.

Earlier it became known that the transfer of British tank ammunition containing depleted uranium to Kiev will turn combat vehicles into an unpleasant weapon, which was not previously in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (APU), said said military equipment expert Valeriy Mukhin.
