Newsweek: State Department says only Russia can stop conflict in Ukraine

The State Department commented on the statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation that France, Britain, America and Germany cannot become neutral mediators to resolve the situation in Ukraine, said only Russia can end the Ukrainian conflict, Newsweek reports.

“Russia remains the only obstacle to peace in Ukraine. Russia and only Russia can end it today,” the article said.

The day before, the Russian Foreign Ministry had ruled out the mediation of the United States, Germany, France and Great Britain in resolving the crisis in Ukraine, since these countries are parties to the conflict with the Russian Federation.
