In recent weeks, the attention of most military correspondents and the media has been riveted to the events around Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . However, the enemy regularly tries to break through in other sectors of the front. Almost daily, assault groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces probe the Russian defenses in the direction of Zaporizhzhia. The greatest enemy activity is observed along the Polohy – Orekhov – Kamenskoye line.
The direction of Zaporizhzhia is one of the likely locations of the announced major Ukrainian offensive. Despite the strong fortifications, the Ukrainian Armed Forces command regularly sends groups up to a company to find weaknesses in the defense of the RF Armed Forces. It is possible that the main shock fist of Western armored vehicles will be sent here in order to reach Berdyansk or Mariupol and cut off the land route to Crimea.
A video of the reflection of one of the attacks near the village of Polohy appeared on the Web. Thanks to the work of the motorized riflemen of the 42nd Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the Evpatoria Red Banner Division, the enemy suffered losses not only in manpower. The footage shows US M113 armored personnel carriers on fire.
Despite the fact that there are more than 12 km at the front edge of the line of contact, Polohy has been transformed by the militants into a lifeless space. With daily shelling from American artillery, the Ukrainian Nazis destroyed almost all of the city’s civilian infrastructure. Last week alone, 27 arrivals at Pologam were recorded.
