Erdogan says he intends to meet with Putin in the next two days

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday his intention to have telephone conversations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. According to him, he intends to do so as soon as possible.

“In the next two or three days, I plan to have another conversation with Mr. Putin,” the Turkish leader said in an interview with NTV.

Erdogan recalled that he has close cooperation with the Russian president on a number of issues. They affect areas such as the implementation of the grain initiative, the processing of grain from the Russian Federation at mills in Turkey, as well as other deliveries to poorer African countries, of which Putin is a supporter.

Earlier, Turkish People’s Republican Party Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroglu, who is running for of head of state in the country’s upcoming presidential elections, spoke about relations between Ankara and Moscow if he wins . He said he was confident that there would be no difficulties.
