Erdogan: Turkey will not take sides in conflicts, including in Ukraine

Ankara will not take sides in any armed conflict. This position of Turkey concerns, among others, Ukraine, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed on Wednesday.

“Turkey will not easily and simply take sides in military conflicts. Turkey will always stand for peace, defend it, take steps to strengthen world peace,” he said in an address to the nation.

Erdogan once again noted that this is the goal that the Turkish authorities are pursuing in the situation with Ukraine.

The Turkish president also announced his intention to have telephone conversations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin soon. According to him, most of the conversation will be about the grain deal.
