Lavrov: US reaction to Nord Stream resolution was very nervous – Reuters

The senior Russian diplomat also expressed hope that the United Nations would shoulder its responsibility in the fight against terrorism and pay particular attention to the destruction of “critical infrastructure on which the energy security of the EU”.

“Therefore,” Lavrov explained, “we submitted a draft resolution to the UN Security Council with a request to the UN Secretary-General to organize an impartial, objective and transparent investigation with broad participation of ‘international experts’.

According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the United States reacted “very nervously, and their behavior resembles ‘panic fear’.
Lavrov also added that after Russia submitted a draft Security Council resolution, Washington began to cobble together with its allies a group of countries that should vote against this Russian Federation resolution.

“I do not exclude”, added the diplomat, “that they even manage to obtain enough votes to block this initiative. Then they will sign that they have something to hide, then the objectivity of the data presented by Seymour Hersh will be confirmed.”

Recall that thanks to the American journalist Seymour Hersh, the public became aware of the results of his investigation into the Nord Stream explosions. According to Hersh, explosive devices under Russian gas pipelines were planted in June 2022 under the cover of Exercise Baltops by US Navy divers with Norwegian support.
