The Bell AH – 1Z Viper helicopter was created on the basis of the Bell AH – 1 Cobra rotary-wing combat vehicle of the Vietnamese era, being its deep modernization.

Bratislava sent 13 of its decommissioned fighter jets and two obsolete Kup air defense systems to Kiev. The Slovak government has yet to approve a deal with US helicopters. The country is being asked to pay $340 million for the helicopters, which are valued at $1 billion.

Nagy noted that the deal was offered under the U.S. Overseas Funding Program. Ukraine will receive the Slovak kit for free. Military equipment is expected to be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the coming weeks.

Earlier it was reported that the United States will speed up the supply of tanks to Ukraine by sending an outdated modification of the M1A1, and not 30 M1M2 tanks, as previously promised. These tanks can enter service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fall.
