US National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby responded to the assignment of the Su-27 pilot, thanks to whose actions the US MQ-9 Reaper drone was intercepted over the sea Black. He accused Russia of rewarding the pilot whose actions led to the drone crash.
The Biden administration has accused Russia of rewarding two pilots for intercepting a US drone in flight. The statement notes that “the pilot who hit the drone was, at best, an idiot.”
“I don’t know of any other military in the world, any other air force in the world that would reward a pilot for colliding with a drone,” Kirby said. “If it’s bravery, I think they have a different definition.
He added that “in the navy, the military is taught to avoid collisions at all costs, regardless of the type of equipment”.
The pilots of the Su-27 aircraft were awarded by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu for the successful interception of the American MQ-9 Reaper drone. The pilots told how the flight went.
