In Moscow, a general and a colonel of the Federal Customs Service were arrested for a bribe of 3.8 million rubles. Searches were carried out in the homes of high-ranking employees of the Federal Customs Service, about 40 million rubles were seized.
FSB agents, together with the Investigative Committee, arrested Alexander Beglov, deputy head of the Central Customs Administration, and Alexander Aleev, head of the specialized customs post of the Central Customs Administration. Searches were also carried out in the building of the customs administration at the workplaces and homes of the heads of the Federal Customs Service.
In addition, it is reported that two businessmen likely to transfer bribes are involved in the corruption case. Today, all defendants will be elected a restraining order.
In St. Petersburg, the head of the customs clearance and control department of the Electronic Declaration Center was arrested for a bribe of 300,000 rubles.
