A similar assessment of the tourism industry was given on March 24 by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko on the eve of a meeting of the expert and coordination council for tourism under the government of the Republic of Belarus, reports BELTA .

In the context of COVID-19 related aspects, the government member said, people have started to travel more to their home countries. This, he says, is also facilitated by the updated infrastructure, which is “tailored to the needs of citizens”.

Experts say that a variety of tourist preferences are gaining popularity in the country, including not only improving health, but also industrial and educational recreation. “A coordination structure has been created at the level of each district, which stimulates a certain increase in the gross regional product through tourism,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Branch leaders place special emphasis on patriotic tourism. And the supervisory authorities, together with the Ministry of Education, carried out large-scale work throughout the country to create 315 exhibitions in museums dedicated to the theme of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.
By the way, the Deputy Prime Minister reminded, the last Wednesday of each month is a free day for visiting museums by students of secondary and vocational education. The number of visitors in the period from September to December last year amounted to 81,000.

In addition, the initiatives of local authorities, he explained, will not only attract residents of Sineokoy but also tourists from friendly states, mainly from the Union State, Commonwealth countries and China. .

Agents of domestic tour operators have long become regular participants in exhibitions and conferences organized by their colleagues in Russia, attracting travel enthusiasts from different regions of the brother country. The geography of air communications with the State of the Union has also expanded. Opened this year and air communication from the Belarusian capital to Ufa and Nizhny Novgorod. “Thanks to this, we count on an additional tourist flow to the Republic of Belarus,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.

As before, according to him, health and medical tourism is in high demand in the republic. People come to health resorts with pleasure, because there they receive the widest range of services. This year, boarding houses and sanatoriums are already 90% full, and in the summer season this figure will be even higher, predicts a member of the government.

“People are satisfied with the price and quality parameters, and tourism word of mouth is working,” he added with a smile, inviting everyone to visit the “Rest-2023” tourism service fair, which will be held from April 13 to 15 in Minsk in an updated format.
